SPARK- the essentials (door Tatiana)

The number one function of the Church is illumination. Figuratively and literally, the Church is responsible to illuminate. It doesn’t matter where we are in the world, the Church has for main responsibility to shine his Light. We, you and me, are the Church. This means that we have the responsibility to demonstrate God’s love and grace to those around us who need it.
The people who need Him are the people who don’t know Him, people who are far from him, people who are poor, broken, cast down (Rom 10:14). Those people are many in our neighborhoods, in our cities, in fact in our world! Our world needs the Church, us, you and me to illuminate Jesus. Our world is desperately looking for the Light and that’s the sole reason we want to SPARK.

Through the NT we see how Christians are the light of the world.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”Matthew 5:14-16

This means that it is the responsibility of the Christians to turn on the Light; to become a bright light; to go out, shine and show the world who Jesus is. We have to focus our light on Him and Him only.  When we don’t, we allow darkness to reign in our community, society and world. In many way we are responsible for the state of our city. To shake our heads and blame whoever when we hear crazy news is not enough.  We need to allow the people around us to follow the glimmer of our candle so that they can find the brighter Light, Jesus-Christ. We have to point them to Jesus. We have to take a stand and SPARK.

The idea of SPARK is not new. For generations all around the world Christian have been SPARKing. Our desire is to rally as many Christian from Gouda and calibrate on our initial mission. Don’t be fooled with the word SPARK, our motivation is nothing more than to let shine our little light of ours. For this upcoming season we want to be intentional on letting our light shine. We are not trying to re-invent anything. Our mission is clear and simple... SHINE!!!
for the timide we call it SPARK but the objectives and intentions are the same: shine a light into the darkness.

The SPARK event has for objective to shine a light that highlights God’s goodness and reveals God’s son in order that the world can understand and know Him.
We are called to love God and to demonstrate his love to the world around us. With SPARK we want to be creative and innovative doing just that.
SPARK main and only focus of his beam is to shine on God. For the next coming weeks, we want to concentrate on showing others who God is and specially people far from God.

SPARK is about putting Jesus in the spotlight and make him famous. The Bible is clear to let us know that when we do, He will attract people to himself. (Jn 12:32)
Our spotlight with SPARK will be on God. When we properly illuminate God, He is in the spotlight and He shines. When He shines lives are transformed.

Let SPARK so that people see who God is. That is the best way to help them in their struggle, identity and significance.
Let SPARK ON!
